Swirl! is a day of clay celebrating our Niloak and Beyond exhibition, with activities and learning opportunities for the whole family. Come join the fun on June 17!
The Community Creative Center will be on site with its Wheel Mobile, a mobile pottery studio, where participants can receive instruction and try their hand at throwing clay pottery. So any skill level is welcome! Spots in the Wheel Mobile are limited, so reserve yours today! (See below for stipulations and a link to sign up.)
In addition to the Wheel Mobile, Mount Sequoyah’s clay studio, the University of Arkansas Museum, and others will lead demonstrations and activities, display significant Arkansas and Cane Hill pottery, and have pieces for sale throughout the day.
This will be a day centered around the importance of pottery culture in Cane Hill and Arkansas. Be sure to view the Boonsboro pottery in the Cane Hill Museum and the Niloak and Beyond exhibition in the HCH Gallery. Then stick around for a special gallery talk with co-curator, Lawrence McElroy!
