John Lasater Exhibition and Workshop

Please join us for an opening reception to welcome John Lasater to the Historic Cane Hill Gallery

Thursday, May 9, 2024 from 6-7:30 PM.

A prolific figure in the plein air scene for many years, John is widely regarded as one of the premier outdoor painters in America, evidenced by his invitation to join the prestigious Plein Air Painters of America. His paintings have won numerous awards nationally including “Best of Show” twice in the Plein Air Southwest Salon. John lives, paints, and teaches in Siloam Springs, and his dedication to his craft has inspired many. He gives back by writing and teaching, sharing his knowledge and passion with others. Through a life dedicated to artistry, John hopes to continue inspiring others and creating beautiful works of art.

The Historic Cane Hill Gallery is located at 14327 State Hwy 45, Canehill, AR 72717. The event is free of charge and open to the public.

John’s solo exhibition will run May 10-July 6, 2024. The gallery is open Thurs.-Sat. from 10 AM-2 PM.

Plein Air Painting Workshop

About the Event:

This on-site, outdoor workshop will begin with a plein air painting demonstration by John Lasater. Afterwards, artists will create their own plein air painting in a location chosen by John.
The group will break for lunch and then switch locations.
In the afternoon, artists will paint a second landscape.

Throughout the workshop, John will provide attention and guiding feedback to the participants.

Note that in the case of rain the event will move to June 15. If you cannot attend the rain date, your fee will be refunded.
