Historic Cane Hill After Dark

Halloween and Cane Hill history are coming together on Friday, October 21st! Join us for Historic Cane Hill After Dark–a chance for adults to drink some cider, spend some time among the monuments at Cane Hill Cemetery, and get into the Halloween spirit.

Abby Burnett, author of Gone to the Grave: Burial Customs of the Arkansas Ozarks, 1850-1950, will lead a tour of historic cemetery markers, where visitors will learn the stories of the departed and what their stones have to say. Abby will also discuss the interesting and macabre history of Ozarks funerary rites. Afterwards, hang out by the fire for a Q&A with Abby while enjoying cider provided by Black Apple Hard Cider and a full s’mores bar!

This event is geared toward ages 21 and older–so get a sitter, grab some friends, and meet us in the Cane Hill Cemetery at 5:30!
