About the Ozarks Bug Crawl
Historic Cane Hill is again teaming up with the University of Arkansas’s Department of Entomology and Plant Pathology to offer everyone the chance to get up close and personal with the crawling, creeping, bouncing, buzzing, flying, and fluttering life of the Ozarks!
Professor of Entomology, Dr. Austin Jones, will bring back his enthusiasm for arthropods and show us all the extensive insect life in our neck of the woods, how to classify them, and how to catch them. Then you and your team will go out and catch as many diverse specimens as possible to compete for a chance to win some great prizes from the Department of Entomology, Historic Cane Hill, NWACC Living Lab, and the Amazeum! Dr. Jones will also model pinning techniques and throw around some fun facts. The Amazeum staff and Laurie Scott of Northwest Arkansas Community College’s Living Labratory will also be on hand to provide some more buggy fun. Deep South BBQ food truck will be in the middle of the action with their delicious food and lemonade available for purchase!
This event is for everyone who wants to know a bit more about bugs, so form your team of certified aphid addicts and come out to Historic Cane Hill on Saturday, August 19, 2023 from 10 am to 2 pm!
