We invite high school-aged students to apply for the 8th Annual Arkansas High School Artists Competition and Exhibition sponsored by Historic Cane Hill, Inc. in partnership with the University of Arkansas School of Art. The exhibition and competition are open to any Arkansas high school student currently in the 10th-12th grade.
The Grand Prize, granted to an Arkansas high school senior, is the Historic Cane Hill Young Artist Scholarship, a one-year tuition and fees scholarship to attend the University of Arkansas School of Art for the 2027-2028 academic year valued at $10,000! Additional cash awards will be distributed to winning artists.

Exhibition and Competition Application
The deadline for entries is 11:59 PM on Sunday, October 4. There is no fee to apply!
A jury will review the works submitted for consideration, culminating in a virtual exhibition and an in-person reception ceremony for the artists, educators, their families, and friends to take place on Saturday, November 14th at 2:00 PM at Historic Cane Hill. This is a great opportunity for our young Arkansas artists to showcase their work, talent, and determination to create, despite all obstacles.
Competition Timeline
Sunday, October 4 (11:59 PM) – Deadline for receipt of entry forms and images
Thursday, October 15 – Notification of acceptance
Friday, October 30 – (5:00 PM) Deadline for shipped delivery of artwork to HCH
Saturday, October 31 – (2:00 PM) Deadline for in-person delivery of artwork to HCH
**The Historic Cane Hill Gallery is open Thursdays – Saturdays 10:00 AM – 2:00 PM**
Note that no one will be available to receive artwork after the museum closes at 2 PM on Saturdays.
Saturday, November 14 (2:00 PM) – Awards Ceremony and Opening Reception
Saturday, January 16, 2027 – Exhibition closes
Monday, January 18, 2027 – Return of artwork begins
Saturday, February 6, 2027 – Deadline for pick-up of artwork
*If you do not pick up your artwork by Feb. 6, we will not store it.
